If you need to spend the night outside your hotel, this is the place to go. Try the Ipanema bar We where there together for a beer at the ipanema bar. I thought it was ok, I'd read about it and new what to expect. Just be smart that's all, sure they try to get you into bars but no more than tailors, massage parlours and even restaurants in this part of the world. Will come and chat you up, caress you and whisper in your ear but I just had a laugh and joke with them perfectly harmless no one forces you to do anything and when they ask for a lady drink you say no they pretty much just move on.
I paid cash for my drinks as I went along, not cheap between 10 to 14 SPD per beer. Never felt threatened or hassled just keep your wits about you and try not to look like a kid in a sweet shop ha ha. There are plenty of other places if u have good music or nice ambience in mind. Basically a cleverly disguised or perhaps not disguised at all pick up point.
Lots of different bars with lots of different versions of boys and girls if you know what I mean. We went to play pool and drink beer and that was it but other diversions were Evidently available. Gotta visit for a laugh. It used to be on my Bucket List If you are bunch of young guys you will have paid women all over you. You can have fun here but it is very expensive and trust no one.
The top floor has Russian dances who will ask you to buy them drinks. But they are very beautiful. I would not recommend for women to go there and if you are a dude only go if u are willing to pay for everything. Getting a royal welcome at the door only to be denied drink if you don't carry a Visa card.. Be careful and not be drunk to be driven into trouble.. Girls will talk only if u buy them drinks..
Not a socializing spot.. What is surprising is there are offices in the same building from level That's creepy. I was looking for a live music scene on the heavy side. Was guided here as most other places were playing the standard music sets. Found the greatest bar at level four in the furthest away corner. The band was playing all heavy stuff and i was happy. There was also a pool table and the regular phillipino women around.
