I am going to travel to Jamaica and thinking of kingston but here its kinda shady in some parts. I am traveling with my brother in about late december early janurary. We would like if possible to go to a island out in the ocean and take a kayak or whatever you take there, and just relax there for maybe a day or so.
Kingston and the Corporate Area are not as tourist-y. There are some cool parts in New Kingston, with clubs etc. You can try and see if you can get a day-trip to the Pedro Cays. This is not the faint-hearted, the Caribbean Sea can be pretty rough. There are some inland waterways you can kayak on, I think. You might want to explore that option. If you want to stay away from resorts etc.
Also I am NOT looking to go there for drugs, I am going for a vacation and the exp to live kinda off the land and in a bungalo near water or whatever they offer, Me and my brother can live on little food so that will not be problem for us eating little amounts of food for the week or so were there, and. Do you think everyone who visits Jamaica is there for the drugs???
I'm certain majority of people on this site are interested in the culture and beauty of the island. Enjoy your trip, but don't believe the stereotype-there is a lot more to this wonderful place. The WEST side of the island would be more so what your looking for. And there would be other areas as well on the island better suited for hanging out and Kayaking and such.
